Dawn Brancheau lost her life at 40 years old. According to investigation, she was dragged down in the tank by the whale and unable to get out of it, She was drowned and killed by the whale. It was very horrible scene and experience according to the witness.
Brancheau belonged to a family of six siblings. Her mother Loverde was sad and said after the incident that her daughter always wanted to be a trainer. During interaction with the media in 2006, she had told reporter: “I remember walking down the aisle [of Shamu Stadium] and telling my mom, ‘This is what I want to do.’ ”
